25 Ways to Make Your Child(ren) Feel Special

Cheryl Lynn Pope

Cheryl Lynn Pope is a wife, mother and author (in that order). She lives in Detroit with her gorgeous husband Lary Jr. and two beautiful children, Kondace Martin (Marty) and Zaria. She is the author of 25 Ways to Make Your Child Feel Special.

Aside from writing for parents, Cheryl is a local freelance writer who frequently pens articles spotlighting community organizations.Cheryl is an active member of New Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Everett Jennings Sr. She has an enormous love for children and her life is illustrated by that. She has founded many children based programs such as "The Who Knew Career Program, " a mentoring and job shadowing program and "Bratz on the Move" a kid taxi service.

In 2005 Cheryl took a selfless leap into the nonprofit sector when she founded Outfits for Angels, a clothing donation charity that aims to provide clothing for needy children in the metro Detroit area. She is an active volunteer with Wise Steward Ministries, a financial literacy program for youth ages nine through eighteen. She is also a Policy Council Representative for the Hartford Headstart Agency in Detroit.

"A dream of mine is to develop a project that would host birthday parties for children that are homeless or in foster care situations. Funding is extremely low in these organizations and sometimes parents will withhold the child's birth date from them for lack of finances. I think that is a shame. A birthday is the anniversary of your birth...Cause for a celebration!"
