Professional massage therapist, Jonathan Burt, is building a business and expanding the field of massage therapy in Metropolitan Detroit. As the founder and president of Burt & Company Massage Therapy, he is motivated by a desire to create a positive image in the community, provide good customer service, and quality in a professional atmosphere. Jonathan is committed to the movement within the massage profession to restore the historic medical applications of massage and manual therapy. He is a member of the American Medical massage Therapy Association. He received his training at Irene's Myomassalogy Institute in Southfield, Michigan. Myomassology is more than a general massage treatment. It is manual therapy applied to the specific area and the primary pathology of the patient's chief complaint. It includes highly specialized joint complex and joint mobilization techniques.

Jonathan's experience in massage began when he was six years old. He would relieve his grandmother's pain by rubbing the stumps of her amputated legs. Jonathan enjoys helping others to live pain-free healthy lives. Today, his company works to provide professional massage services at a rate affordable for people who previously thought of massage as a luxury, rather than a means for improving health and quality of life. Burt's massage therapists provide therapeutic and hot rock body massage, chair massage, and Pedisage foot treatments in their Detroit office or offsite.

The positive energy in Jonathan's hands extends to his relationships in the business community and neighborhood. He is an active member of the Detroit Regional Chamber. His community service includes teaching and facilitating classes at NIT (National Institute of Technology) and Irene's Myomassology Institute. He has volunteered his massage services to support Wayne County Commission's "Make a Senior Smile Day", "Massage-A-Thon" for Lighthouse Path, Real Men Cook, the United Negro College Fund and the JVS Jewish Vocational School. Burt and Company is also a Resolution of Wayne County recipient for outstanding citizenship as an exemplary business.

Jonathan is currently working on a as of yet, untitled manuscripted scheduled for a 2007 release.
